12116540_10207993805388760_116397563_o-2Hey guys! Sorority recruitment is coming up and I have been getting a lot of questions to do a video about tips for holding the perfect conversation between a Potential New Member and a sister!

The biggest thing that helped me was that I jotted down questions to ask the sister just in case the sister was not asking me most of the questions. A PNM is not usually supposed to be the “question asker”, but if there is too much awkward silence, you might have to take the wheel!

  1. Why did you decide to go through recruitment?
  2. What was your favorite philanthropy that you participated in and why?
  3. Were you an in-state or out-of-state student?
  4. If they say out-of-state ask, How was the transition moving to a different state and how did your sorority help with that situation?
  5. If in-state ask, Even though you are close to home do you ever get homesick, if so how does your sorority help with that situation?
  6. Are you involved in any other organizations, if so what are they?
  7. Ask they to define terms that you are confused about, for example, What is a philanthropy event?
  8. How do you balance your time between academics, school and sorority events?
  9. What is your academic program like?
  10. Are you required to have a certain amount of study hours?
  11. Do you have a specific place for studying in the house?
  12. How much time commitment is a sorority?
  13. What was your favorite social and why?
  14. How does Greek life get involved on campus/ with the school as a whole?
  15. Why did you join this sorority?
  16. What is the best part about being in this sorority?
  17. What is the best part about being Greek?
  18. What is your sorority’s philanthropy?
  19. What are the initial steps you must take to become more involved in your sorority?
  20. What are some of the values that are associated with your sorority?
  21. How has your sorority changed you?
  22. Does your chapter plan sisterhood events? If so, what were some of your favorite?
  23. Does your chapter keep in touch with alumnae? If so, what are some events that your chapter planned with them?
  24. What was it like when you got your big?
  25. Why did you choose this university?
  26. If the chapter has a house on campus ask, Do you live in the house or do you plan on living in the house?
  27. What is your favorite room in the house and why?
  28. What makes your sorority unique?
  29. What are some of the traditions of the university that you have participated in?
  30. How much are sorority dues per semester?

  1. The four B’s: Boys, Booze, Bars & Bibles.
  2. Do not talk about another specific sorority.
  3. Netflix/ TV shows/ Movies, take advantage of the time to find out about the sorority!

Freshmen Year Reflection

I am finally done with my first year of college at the University of Central Florida! At first I thought of Summer B as summer camp just to ease my mind of moving to a different state, but once fall classes started I felt extremely homesick. I didn’t think I would have ended up liking UCF as much as I do now. I owe it all to my sorority, Kappa Delta, for providing me with opportunities to meet amazing people and build friendships. I joined my fall semester, but didn’t really find my place until this spring, but that was all my fault. This year, my friend and I made our New Years Resolution to go to as many events and meet as many people as possible. We did a pretty damn good job and kept our promise. Surrounding myself with my sisters and friends and exploring Orlando is what pulled me out of my “homesick funk”.

Moving to Florida was something that I have always dreaded and it still hasn’t hit me that I live in the sunshine state, but I am so fortunate that I was able to go out of state for college because it has made me the independent person that I never thought I would become. I don’t have my mom and dad around to baby me anymore, I had to take steps (a lot of steps) into the real world, by myself. I knew no one moving to Orlando, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way because I was able to make this place my own.

Cozy Things You Need In Your Life!

With winter coming up, all I want to do is snuggle up by the fire with some warm apple cider, but unfortunately I have to get through finals first. Ever since I moved to Orlando, I have missed Atlanta’s cold weather more than I thought I would! I wanted to tell you guys about some of my new cozy faves and be sure to click the teal highlighted words because I will be linking the products so that they are easy to find for you all!

So of course, we gotta have our fuzzy/ knit socks! I am obsessing over crew neck socks that peep out of short booties! These knit ones are from American Eagle and they are on sale!! These make great stocking stuffers as well, so maybe this year instead of getting the same old aloe vera fuzzy socks, give these a try!

I love ear warmer headbands! Not only do they keep you nice and warm, but they had so much to an outfit! You can find some embellished and plain ones at Forever 21! I usually like to go for the plain knit ones so that they can match with more!

Bralettes are perfect for the winter because who wants to wear a real bra anyway? Sometimes for me, my problem is that boobs are too big so I need a lot of support, but since it’s the season for chunky sweaters, I can get away with wearing bralettes! I also wanted to share my new favorite line of shirts! THE SOFT AND SEXY LINE AT AMERICAN EAGLE IS LIFE!!! Please, go to your local American Eagle and just feel the soft and sexy shirts, it is the epitome of a comfy shirt! I was lucky enough to find this particular one at Plato’s Closet for half the price, but recently stalked up some more this Black Friday!

This has got to be my favorite thing that I bought this Black Friday because I have been searching for a black cardigan since the beginning of this semester! I unfortunately lost my favorite one in the transition of moving into my apartment, but I finally found this bad boy at Urban Outfitters! Now usually, I don’t even like to go in the store because it’s just torture to look at cute clothes that are out of my price range, but I have been eyeing a cardigan from there and on Black Friday it was on sale for $40 instead of $60! I know I will wear this almost everyday so I splurged!

IMG_0981-2I have recently fallen in love with Anthropology! I remember thinking it was an “old lady” store, but I guess I have gotten old enough to love it haha! Obviously the clothes are ridiculously expensive, but the trinkets and home goods are pretty affordable! I picked up this beautiful candle in the scent Capri Blue; it is a refreshing fruity smell!

The last thing is beautiful Instagrammable mug! Yup… I said it! Who doesn’t want to be able to take a cute picture with their adorable mug by the fire!? This was only $10 at Anthropology!! It would be great to give your friends for the holidays because it is personal and cute!

I hope you all got some ideas of some things to gift your friends and/ or yourself for the holidays! Good luck to all the students getting ready to take their finals and to all the working people, the holidays will be here as soon as we know it!

It is so important to feel loved especially in our generation where our lives revolve around social media. People cyber bully their peers to make them feel better about themselves, but I don’t understand how making someone feel like shit, makes you feel good about yourself. Instead of spreading hate, I want to #ShareLove to all of my readers.

Feeling loved is someone genuinely asking how your day was.

Feeling loved is having a person that is genuinely happy for your success.

Feeling loved is knowing that there is someone that would drop everything to help you out.

But feeling loved needs to start with loving yourself. You don’t need makeup to be beautiful. You don’t need to be a size 0 to look hot. You have to love all of your flaws and perfections.

I encourage everyone to compliment at least 3 people each day because you never know how much it could impact their day.

I also encourage my readers to post a selfie or a picture with family or friends and #ShareLove (and tag me in it of course so I can see your beautiful faces @so_narly and @TheRelationshipInsider).

I love you guys and I am so happy that I can promote such an empowering campaign.

Perfection is Scary

“You’re so perfect!!”

I don’t know about y’all, but I get super uncomfortable when people tell me this. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely think it’s flattering, but I also think it’s scary.

1. having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be.

When people tell me this I feel like I have to live up to a certain expectation. For example, if someone were to see my picture on instagram where I did my makeup full out that day and they said I’m perfect, I would feel like I need to wear that much makeup everyday or dress a certain way every day. Or maybe my followers only see my life when it’s “perfect”. But I have flaws, in fact I have many insecurities that I don’t advertise, but it doesn’t make them go away.
Perfect can even pertain to a person’s characteristics. Some people may not excell in academics, sports or even just social situations and think that someone’s perfect if they can do something better than themselves. I especially think this is the worst because when people think that you are perfect because you have high standards for something and you drop your standards for some small thing, the feeling of failure is a lot worse, knowing people ‘used to’ think you were perfect.
Being so caught up with social media these days has made the word ‘perfect’ scary. Just be you & do what benefits you.

Why I Chose UCF over FSU

So as you may know, I have finally decided that I will be starting at University of Central Florida this summer. It was only between that and Florida State University. FSU is where my sister goes so my whole family pretty much wanted me to go there and at the time of the application process; I didn’t have a preference of where I wanted to go, but I did think that UCF was just going to be my back up school. I ended up getting deferred from both schools and the first one that accepted me was UCF. I did tour UCF and I fell in love with the campus and the city as well. As for Tallahassee, I have visited my sister many times and I just didn’t think it would be a good fit for me. There is one mall and I gotta say it is pretty shitty… But that is of course not the only reason. I am so excited to be attending, it is coming up so soon I’m getting anxious!

Break Is Over & Life Update

Hello readers! I have been gone for awhile and I apologize, but there was some password problems and things like that, but I won’t deny that I had little motivation to do any posts. I have been dedicating most of my time towards my youtube videos, which is good and bad. I want to update this blog as much as all of my other social media even if it is a small rant or an iphone pictured post. I wanted to have this blog so I could have freedom to say whatever I wanted to and I need to take advantage of this.

I went on Spring Break recently and i went to Destin with some of my friends which was so fun! We could not have asked for better weather! And the ocean was so much fun, usually I don’t like the ocean that much, or I will jump some waves for 5 minutes and run out. But this time it was just so relaxing.

I guess the relaxing part about it was that I got into college and so I didn’t have a worry in the world. I want to do a separate post on the college I chose and why I chose it, but if you want a sneak peak you can check out my first ever Q&A video!
