Last night was day 5 of not washing my hair and it was greasy as heck, to say the least! I wanted to try out a new braid and was inspired by Sazan Barzani’s Inatgram post of her crown braid!
I have tried this braid out multiple times before and failed! I thought it might have been because my hair is extremely thick and it was weighing down on the bobby pins, but yesterday when I attempted this braid again, it was so much different and I really believe that it was because my hair was extra dirty! Since my hair had some texture to it, it held up much better in the bobby pins and never felt like it was about to fall out!
I think this hair style is so unique that you can pair it with any outfit and let it be the star of the show! I received so many compliments about my hair and one lady even asked who did my hair and I humbly replied, “Me!”
Let me know if you guys want a tutorial on this hairstyle!
Today I woke up and decided I would actually do something with my hair for once, instead of wearing it natural. I quickly straightened it, and realized it looked worse than when it was natural. I could see how dead my hair was and that meant it was time for a haircut. I started calling up salons and I asked them about treatments. I originally wanted to do Olaplaex because I have heard how it can turn your dyed, damage hair into virgin hair, but the lady on the phone told me that it was not needed for my hair. I went in and she gave me this Keratage Smoothing treatment and my hair looks and feels a whole lot better. Unfortunately, she did not have time to give me a cut, so I still have some dead ends, but they look better than they were!
Basically she shampooed my hair and then put this treatment into my hair and let it sit for 10 minutes. She then washed it out and I blew it out! I can honestly tell a difference because now my hair is so much shinier, I don’t even need to put argon oil in it! It also leaves your hair less frizzy, this being important for me because my hair is not used to this Orlando weather! I decided to buy the treatment for myself because going to the salon was more than half the cost of the product. This treatment is $35 and going to the salon was $25 not including tax. I recommend buying this product if you have course damaged hair!
Today I was having a struggle day, but that’s pretty much every Sunday for me! Usually I’m so used to not having to wear any makeup on a Sunday, doing homework, watching tv, and all of the other boring things we do on Sundays; but today I had a sorority meeting, OH YEAH and I joined a sorority NBD. I had no idea what to do with my face or my hair! At first I decided to put my hair up into a high pony tail, but that did not look that great on me. So then I decided to do a braid, but not just any braid; an UNEVEN Fishtail Braid.
The braid is simple, if you know the basics of a fishtail braid. The only different thing you do is take small pieces and then take random big pieces of hair to each of the other sides. The most important step is to pull apart the braid! This makes it look thicker even if you have thin hair!
Hey guys! Today I wanted to show you a ‘Cinderella’ inspired outfit and hair. As we all know (or you should know, that is) Cinderella’s gown was a baby blue color. I got this baby blue shirt from Forever 21. My white high waisted skinny jeans are from American Apparel. My shoes are from Charlotte Russe- these babies have been my best friends for the season of grad parties, they are surprisingly comfortable for being new. My bralette is from Aerie .
For my hair, I was kind of rushed and not feeling like straightening or curling my full head. So I decided to do a Pulled Apart Dutch Braid half up half down. Honestly I thought it looked like a 3-year old hairstyle at first, but they key to it is to “pull it apart”, meaning do the dutch braid, tie it off and then go back and just tug on every loop of the braid. This will give it a more full look and it will seem like you have thick hair ever if you don’t! Amber Fillerup taught me this trick and now I can’t do a braid without pulling it apart! It just makes it look so messy yes so elegant!
If you guys don’t know about Amber, she is an amazing blogger- by far one of my FAVORITES! She is pretty well known for her braids and you may have seen her on Pinterest in a hair tutorial! But if you ever have greasy hair, she has so many awesome braid tutorials that you can cover your grease up with!
Anyway, back on topic, I just recently watched Cinderella (the newest one) and it was so cute! Even though there are like, what? 15 Cinderella related movies..? But the story gets better every time!
